888 Casino Is It Down

No site-wide outage at our last check. If it is not loading for you, the diagnostic below sorts a genuine outage from a problem on your own connection in about a minute.

This panel reflects a periodic manual check, not continuous monitoring. A brand-new incident may not be shown yet — run the diagnostic below if the site is not loading for you right now.

What happens to your bet when the site drops

This is the question that actually matters and the one people panic about. Every round is resolved on the game server, not in your browser. Your screen is a display; losing it does not lose the round.

On a slot, the spin completes and any win is credited whether or not you are watching. Reconnect and you will find the balance already updated. On a live dealer table, the hand carries on without you and settles on the stake you had already placed, which occasionally means coming back to a result you would have played differently — annoying, but not a fault. If a round genuinely cannot complete, the stake is returned rather than lost.

Pending withdrawals are unaffected too. They are handled by back-office systems that keep running when the website does not, so an outage neither pauses your payout nor restarts its clock. The withdrawal times page covers what does move that clock.

The sixty-second diagnostic

Work through these in order. Whichever step changes the result tells you where the fault is, and four times out of five it is not the casino.

  1. 1Switch to mobile data. If the site loads on 4G but not on wi-fi, the problem is your home connection or your ISP, not the operator.
  2. 2Open a private window. This bypasses cached files and most extensions in one move. If it works here, clear your normal browser's cache.
  3. 3Turn off any VPN or proxy. Geo checks are the single most common cause of an access-denied message from a New Zealand connection that would otherwise be fine.
  4. 4Disable your ad blocker for the site. Games load inside frames from separate supplier domains, which blockers routinely eat, producing a lobby that loads and games that will not.
  5. 5Try a second device on the same network. Two devices failing means the network; one means that device.
  6. 6Only now assume an outage. If everything above fails identically on two networks and two devices, it is genuinely down. Wait it out; incidents are usually short.

Fix by symptom

Lobby loads, games spin forever

Almost always an ad blocker or a privacy extension blocking the supplier frame. Allowlist the site and reload.

Cashier will not open

A payment processor having a moment, not the casino. Try a different method — see payment methods.

Logged out on every page

Cookies are being cleared or blocked. Check third-party cookie settings and any "delete on close" rule.

Balance looks wrong after a disconnect

Hard refresh first. The round settled server-side; you are almost certainly looking at a cached figure.

Slow only in the evening

New Zealand peak hours on a congested line. Wired beats wi-fi, and 5 GHz beats 2.4 GHz.

Account suspended message

Not an outage. That is a verification or compliance hold and only support can lift it.

Outage log

Incidents we recorded from New Zealand this year. Times are NZDT/NZST. This log accumulates rather than resetting.

888 Casino service status for New Zealand players at the last manual check
Date What was affected Length Type
12 Aug 2026Cashier panel slow to load~25 minPayment provider
30 Jun 2026One live dealer studio unreachable~40 minSupplier
17 May 2026Scheduled maintenance, site read-only~90 minPlanned
2 Apr 2026Login failures on desktop browsers~15 minSite-wide
9 Feb 2026Slot lobby images missing, games playable~35 minCDN

Two patterns are worth noticing. Most incidents are not the casino at all — they are a payment processor, a game studio or a content network having a bad half hour, which is why "try a different method" or "try a different game" resolves so many of them. And scheduled maintenance is run in overnight European hours, which unhelpfully lands in the New Zealand afternoon.

What players reported

"Dropped out mid-spin on a bonus round and assumed I'd lost it. Logged back in and the win was already sitting in the balance."

Tauranga · 30 June 2026

"Nothing would load for two days. Turned out to be my ad blocker after an update. Private window worked straight away, which should have been my first test."

Wellington · 15 May 2026

"Access denied on the laptop, fine on the phone. It was the VPN I'd left running from work. Off it went, straight in."

Outage questions

Is 888 Casino down right now?

At our last manual check there was no site-wide outage. Because that check is periodic rather than continuous, the fastest way to tell the difference between a real outage and a problem at your end is the sixty-second diagnostic on this page: if the site loads on mobile data but not on your home connection, the fault is local.

What happens to my bet or spin if the site goes down mid-round?

The round is settled on the server, not in your browser, so a disconnect does not void it. Reconnect and the result will be applied to your balance. Slots resolve the spin and pay any win; live dealer tables continue without you and settle the hand you had already staked. If a round genuinely cannot be completed, the stake is returned.

Why does 888 Casino load on my phone but not on my laptop?

That points at your network rather than the casino. The usual causes are a DNS cache holding a stale record, a browser extension or ad blocker interfering with the game frames, or an ISP-level filter on the fixed line that is not applied to mobile data. Clear the cache, disable extensions and try a different DNS resolver.

What does an error 403 or "access denied" mean?

It usually means the request was blocked before it reached the game, most often by a geo or network check. A VPN or proxy is the most common trigger, since running one makes your traffic look like it is coming from somewhere you are not. Turn it off and retry from a plain New Zealand connection.

The cashier will not load but games work. What is wrong?

That pattern is usually the payment provider rather than the casino. Cashiers pull methods from external processors, and if one of them is having a bad afternoon the whole panel can hang. Wait it out and try a different method — Account2Account and cards rarely fail at the same moment.

Do outages affect withdrawals that are already pending?

No. Once a withdrawal is in the queue it is processed by back-office systems that are separate from the website. A front-end outage does not pause your payout, and it does not reset the clock on it either.

How long do outages usually last?

Most are short. In our log the typical incident is measured in tens of minutes, with scheduled maintenance windows announced in advance and generally run overnight in European hours, which lands in the New Zealand daytime.
